Summary:
An old and naughty spirit causes Halloween decorations to come to life and wreak havoc, forcing a father (Marlon Wayans) and his teenage daughter (Priah Ferguson) to work together to preserve their town. Kelly Rowland, Rob Riggle, John Michael Higgins, and Lauren Lapkus are also featured in the movie.
In the family-friendly Halloween comedy `The Curse of Bridge Hollow’, Marlon Wayans plays a father who relocates his family from Brooklyn to a rural hamlet with a sinister past.
Naturally, it doesn’t take long for Wayans’ character and his family to have to defend themselves against a real supernatural menace that is summoning zombies, wicked clowns, and even a huge spider.

The Curse of Bridge Hollow is intended for younger viewers and their families, and will never be misconstrued for a legitimately horrific picture like those in The Conjuring world.
It also appears to have been created to provide them lighthearted thrills from genuinely terrifying ghosts and animals, which Wayans’ own Scary Movie and A Haunted House flicks lacked.
They might not have nightmares from The Curse of Bridge Hollow, but they will be terrified of its antagonists.
Additionally, the fact that The Curse of Bridge Hollow is being directed by Jeff Wadlow, a seasoned veteran of the horror genre, definitely helps. The horror movies Cry Wolf, Truth or Dare, and Fantasy Island are all featured in his filmography.
The Curse of Bridge Hollow’s trailer suggests that Wadlow will deliver thrills and intensity that are meant to keep audiences on the edge of their seats, something Wayans’ horror parodies did not accomplish either because they were primarily intended to make people laugh.
Although this will come as no surprise to viewers of films like Goosebumps and Hocus Pocus, it is entirely fresh to Wayans.
Wayans has previously appeared in raunchy parodies of horror films including `Scream’, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and even `Paranormal Activity’ as well as co-writing them.
The Curse of Bridge Hollow marks a turning point for Wayans. It also marks a key turning point in the actor’s film career as he plays a more serious part. With this movie, Marlon Wayans has entered into the era of family adventures leaving behind the horror spoofs.
