  • Lime or lemon juice – Lemon juice is a more traditional choice, but lime juice is a nice change of pace!
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons fresh chopped dill. When preparing homemade ranch dressing, fresh dill is far superior to dried dill; but, you may use dried dill as well; just use one-third the amount.
  • 3 garlic cloves peeled
  • 1 teaspoon dried chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 3/4 cup fresh water
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
How to Make Easy Vegan Ranch Dressing with Cashews
  • Blend all the ingredients in a high-speed blender until well combined, creamy, and blended.
  • Start the blender, then gradually raise the speed until it is running high. (Or, if your blender has one, use the dressing setting.) The dressing should be thoroughly blended so that there are no remaining lumps of garlic or cashews.
  • Not a blender? No issue! Instead, you could make this in a food processor, but be aware that the texture might not be as smooth.
  • First, add the liquid. Then add the solid ingredients in layers. As a result, it becomes more difficult for air pockets to form by generating a vortex that draws the solid materials to the blade.
  • The dressing could become a touch warm if your blender runs for a while. Simply put it in the refrigerator to chill it if this occurs.

Note:

If you don’t want it to become a slight light green hue, you can add the dill later. Blend the dressing without the dill and then stir it in if you want the traditional white ranch dressing.

Blend the dill in with the other ingredients if you prefer a dressing with a touch of green colour.

Tips:

If necessary, taste and add extra salt or lime/lemon juice. If you want it runnier, add additional water. Serve with buffalo cauliflower wings, over veggie burgers, or on salads.

You can keep it for about a week in the refrigerator. Allow it to sit out of the fridge for about 15 minutes before using it on the salad because it can thicken if you don’t want it runny.

FAQs
What ingredients make vegan ranch?

Mayonnaise, buttermilk, fresh herbs, and flavorings are all ingredients in a traditional ranch dressing. Therefore, to create the vegan version, we used vegan buttermilk and vegan mayonnaise, which were both created with non-dairy milk, fresh herbs, and flavorings. This is all that was required to make an absolutely wonderful vegan ranch dressing.

What causes the flavor of ranch?

It combines creaminess (from buttermilk, sour cream, and occasionally mayonnaise) with herbs (often parsley, thyme, and dill), as well as onion, garlic, and a dash of black pepper.

Can sour cream be used in place of mayonnaise?

Use sour cream as an alternative to mayo in addition to using it to top baked potatoes and nachos! Your salads and slaws will be just as creamy when you use sour cream, which is comparable in texture and flavor. (Just a reminder: If you’re searching for something light, this isn’t a good swap.)

How come mayo is not vegan?
