New leaks have surfaced online, purportedly revealing Season 2 details for Call of Duty-Modern Warfare 2 Video Game.
Call of Duty-Warzone is a first-person shooter video game series published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward and Raven Software. Key marketing art depicts a Japanese theme, with artwork teasing the return of the classic map Castle.
Castle was originally a multiplayer map in Call of Duty World at War, set in a World War II Japanese fortress.
The map was most recently seen in Call of Duty Vanguard, but this would be the first time it would appear in the franchise’s modern shooter theme.
Throughout Season 1, Call of Duty fans have been enjoying everything Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 have to offer.
In Season 1, players received three new weapons, the Shoot House map, and, of course, the release of Warzone 2’s Al Mazrah.
The update for Season 1 Reloaded is scheduled for December 14th. Along with the classic Shipment map, a new weapon will be added to Modern Warfare 2.
Despite a slew of new content arriving in the middle of the season, players are left wondering what the next major update will bring.
Call of Duty-Modern Warfare 2 Release Date
Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 2 are expected to be released on February 1, as the Season 1 Battle Pass expires close on that date.
The developers have been tight-lipped about new Season 2 additions, but thanks to leaked images, players have gotten their first look at what to expect.
According to reports from WhatIfGaming, Call of Duty-Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 will be released sometime in February 2023. Players can expect some significant changes, as well as new cosmetics and content.
Will Ronin Return in Call of Duty-Modern Warfare 2 Season 2?
The ‘Castle’ map is said to be making a comeback, according to the report. Ronin, a Warcom reporter, will also return in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2.
While Modern Warfare 2 players have already received a samurai-themed Operator in Oni, it appears that Season 2 will follow suit.
If the Ronin Operator wasn’t a strong enough indicator of the new direction Season 2 will take, the map shown in the image should be. The Season 2 key art above features the classic World at War map Castle.
If the leaks are correct, Castle could be making its way into Modern Warfare 2. The Castle map also appeared in Vanguard, so having it return in back-to-back years is an interesting decision.
The revealed artwork depicts a close-up of the Warcom Operator, Ronin, wielding a Katana. Another image shows Ronin with two other operators against a backdrop of Japanese-style houses and cherry blossoms. Players should be aware that this information is not from an official source, so take it with a grain of salt.
